As Chief Investment Officer of Connecticut’s Clean Energy Finance and Investment Authority or “CEFIA” (SÈ-fee-uh), Bert Hunter leads the development of new and innovative financing programs. With a mission to attract and deploy private capital for clean energy to Connecticut, in six months he has led efforts to attract over $80 million of private capital in the residential sector alone and was instrumental in structuring Connecticut’s support of a 15 MW fuel cell facility in Bridgeport CT, the largest in the world.
Before joining CEFIA, Bert was VP Finance and CFO of Spectrum Capital, Ltd, an investment bank focused on commercial aircraft finance and investment in US electric power generation. Prior to Spectrum, Bert was the treasurer of the international leasing company of what was then Chemical Bank where he managed the funding for a billion-dollar portfolio of aircraft and equipment loans and leases outside the United States.
Bert is an alumnus and former Trustee of Wake Forest University and received his MBA from The Wharton School.
