Schneider Electric is proud to participate in the FIT program; North America's first comprehensive guaranteed pricing structure for renewable electricity production, because it aligns with the company’s goals of helping people make the most of their energy and leading the world in energy awareness.
Ontario is breaking ground in North America by providing a mechanism for individuals and organizations, at all levels in the community and the marketplace, to develop renewable energy-generating facilities without regard to the criteria of economic efficiency and cost-effectiveness, previously applied to approvals of traditional energy generation sources.
Through one of its existing facilities in Mississauga, Ontario, Schneider Electric is in an excellent position to deliver products that are FIT compliant as early as August of this year. The manufacturing facility is fully staffed and functional, ready to roll out the existing 480 and 208 Vac versions of the Schneider Electric Xantrex GT100, Schneider Electric Xantrex GT250 and Schneider Electric Xantrex GT500 in August to be followed shortly by the 600 Vac versions of the Schneider Electric Xantrex GT100 and Schneider Electric Xantrex GT250 which will be released by the end of 2010 for shipment in 2011.
“We’ve worked very hard to achieve compliance in a timely manner,” said Rudy Wodrich, Commercial Vice President, Schneider Electric. “Our customers are a top priority and it is our goal to have uninterrupted delivery of FIT approved products available to them.”
Schneider Electric acquired Xantrex, a Canadian company with a long history of participation in the Ontario market (mostly off grid), in 2008. As the foundation for Schneider Electric’s new Renewable Energies Business unit, the focus of our sales efforts is on providing renewable energy solutions to customers. These renewable energy solutions complement Schneider Electric’s integrated solutions, which are designed to make energy safe, reliable, efficient, productive and green from plant to plug.
