PV*SOL® Expert 5.0 now with simulation of mounted PV systems
June 1, 2011
PV*SOL® Expert is now available in Version 5.0 with 3D visualization and detailed shading analysis of mounted PV systems
TEMECULA, CA PV*SOL® Expert 5.0 now offers a major new feature that makes it possible for users to visualize mounted PV systems in 3D mode using a standard PV*SOL mounting system. The mounted systems are automatically sized to the roof and the software includes tools to optimize both the distance between rows and the mounting angle. The PV*SOL standard mounting system is fully editable, independently from the statics. Individual rows of PV modules can also be edited, or added and removed in groups, and can be jointly configured to operate as a sub-array. The graphical configuration of the PV modules has been extended in PV*SOL® Expert 5.0, so that the modules can now be reassigned to a particular configuration across rows. The software’s animation shows the inter-row shading, which is accounted for in the yield simulation. The parallel calculation and visualization of the shade frequency distribution for all of the module rows means that the PV*SOL® user has the possibility of adapting the design of the mounted system to the prevailing shade conditions, thus ensuring the best possible system yields.
PV*SOL® has extensive module and inverter databases with data for around 7,150 modules and 1,690 inverters which are continuously updated and extended by the automatic update function. The data is updated online by the module and inverter manufacturers. Valentin Software then checks the data and makes it regularly available to PV*SOL® users via the automatic update function.
PV*SOL® users can select between five languages in the program: English, Spanish, French, German and Italian, and the user manual is also available in all five languages.
