Industrial DC DC Power supply for use in PV Systems on DC side. wide input voltage range allows connection to PV strings, to remotely power sensors,Arc Fault detectors, data com equipment, and DC Contactor coils.
Tamura Corporation has designed and developed a new parasitic DC Power supply, with an output rated at 24 VDC at 1Amp, suitable for powering DC Current sensor modules, and data transmission devices, in DC Circuit type “Smart” Combiner Boxes.
The TCDC7001 conforms to NEC building codes, and is intended for use where compliance with Article 690 is required. The model has been certified to North American Safety standards for use in the 200 to 600 VDC input range, for providing isolated and regulated low voltage. Trade named “Smarty”, the 24 watt DC power supply can replace $100’s of dollars of low voltage equipment and labor, to enable DC Circuit string level monitoring.
“The use of parasitic DC powers supplies to power DC string level monitoring, can save $0.10 per watt and more, and result in significant reduction of labor, for commercial photovoltaic systems that employ string level monitoring, and help long term production and diagnostic benefits by PV Plant owners.” stated Jim Coleman, Director of Sales for Tamura Corporation of America. “Smart Combiner Equipment manufacturers and commercial system Installers have needed a solution like this, for several years”, he added.
The TCDC7001 is available through Tamura’s network of catalog and specialty distributors in North America, beginning November, 2012. It has a MSRP of $75.00 each.
Tamura is an International company with a US division located in Southern California since 1986. The TCDC7001is manufactured in our Tijuana, Mexico factory to fulfill NAFTA requirements for PV Systems BOS components.
