Sunetric has always aimed to provide its customers with the most experienced and professional engineers, technicians and sales people. In keeping with this commitment, they recently announced that project engineer Gabriel Chong became the first, RISE CSRP-certified professional in Hawaii. Since Gabriel received his certification, two others have become certified, but he remains the only certified individual who is also a PV engineer and expert installer.
Sunetric has always aimed to provide its customers with the most experienced and professional engineers, technicians and sales people. In keeping with this commitment, they recently announced that project engineer Gabriel Chong became the first RISE CSRP-certified professional in Hawaii. (Since Gabriel received his certification, two others have become certified, but he remains the only certified individual who is also a PV engineer and expert installer.)
Most solar industry certifications focus primarily on the electrical and installation components of Hawaii Solar Photovoltaic (PV) projects. They don’t focus on one of the most important areas: The rooftop.
To address this knowledge gap, a group of roofing and architectural specialists developed a program that trains solar engineers in the full, comprehensive scope of solar PV installations.
The end result is known as the Roof Integrated Solar Energy Certified Solar Roofing Professional certification (RISE CSRP). RISE CSRP’s are specialists trained in handling the roofing installation of Solar Energy Systems. RISE is a partner with the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA). The two work together to raise the level of green engineering knowledge in the roofing industry as well.
Certified individuals must distinguish themselves from their peers by proving their extensive in-depth knowledge of roofing related to solar PV installations. Often overlooked, the roof is the platform, the foundation, for any solar PV system, and it plays an integral part in a PV system’s capacity to generate maximum solar power.
In addition to this certification, Gabe holds the NABCEP (North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners) certification for both PV Technical Sales and Solar PV Installer. These are considered the gold standard for PV and solar thermal installation certifications.
The PV Technical Sales certification means that Gabe is highly qualified to provide thorough and accurate information to Sunetric's customers during the sales process.
Gabe was the 18th person to complete the NABCEP exam and had one of the highest grades. Only 97 people in the country received this certification after the first try. And that’s not all for this super achiever, he is also a certified Suniva Master Installer.
With this achievement, Sunetric has yet again proved its committment to elevating every member of the team to their highest potential.
