Rockville, MD – August 31, 2010 Standard Solar, Inc., a premier full-service developer, integrator and installer of solar electric systems for commercial, government and residential customers, today announced that the company was named to the prestigious Inc. magazine Top 500 Fastest Growing Companies in America list, a compendium of the most entrepreneurial and fastest growing companies in America. Standard Solar ranked 73rd out of 500 and was the highest ranking renewable energy company on the list.
"This recognition further reinforces our position as a key player in the solar industry. I'd also like to thank all of our stakeholders, especially our employees whose hard work and dedication to customer service made our rapid growth possible."
“Standard Solar is honored to be a part of such an exclusive list of companies,” said Tony Clifford, Standard Solar’s CEO. “This recognition further reinforces our position as a key player in the solar industry. I’d also like to thank all of our stakeholders, especially our employees whose hard work and dedication to customer service made our rapid growth possible.” Since 2006, Standard Solar has seen exponential growth, serving residential customers and all industries including government, across all geographic areas. The company recently announced, with partner Perpetual Energy Systems, that it will install more than 2000 solar panels yielding an 850-kilowatt solar electric system to the University of Delaware, expanding its growing foot print in higher education. In May of this year, Standard Solar announced Standard Energy Solutions (SES), a new division of the company focusing on energy auditing and performance retrofitting. “Fast growth at any time is a big achievement; fast growth during the past few years is just short of miraculous,” said Inc. editor Jane Berentson. “The Inc. 500 consists of these just-short-of miraculous companies, the ones that through ingenuity and ambition have increased revenue, hired employees, and grown fast in difficult economic times.” The Inc. 500 list offers a glimpse of the future of the U.S. economy. It looks at businesses across several sectors, from retail to software to energy. More than 25 percent of companies in the energy sector on the list ($2.5 billion aggregate revenue; 942 percent median growth rate) focus on solar and other alternative sources.
