Southwest Windpower Receives SWCC Certification for Skystream 3.7

SWCC assesses and verifies the accuracy of data for the performance and safety of small wind turbines in accordance with criteria established by the American Wind Energy Association. The SWCC Certification is based on an evaluation of the wind turbine design (structural analysis) and field testing (power performance test, acoustic sound test, safety and function test, and duration test). The SWCC label is similar to automobile window stickers used to report mileage performance expectations and other data to potential car buyers.

With SWCC certification, businesses, consumers, utilities can compare products and gain greater confidence that Skystream 3.7 has been independently tested and meets requirements of consensus standards. Certification elevates the entire industry by preventing unethical marketing and false claims, ensuring consumer protection and industry credibility.

Skystream 3.7 is a down-wind (wind hits the blades on the downwind side of the tower), direct drive (gearless), permanent magnet wind generator More than 8000 Skystreams have been installed around the world since its introduction in 2006.
