Skystream 3.7 Eligible for Newly Reinstated California Energy Commission Rebate

The California Energy Commission selects eligible turbines based on new, more stringent criteria including third party certifications, independently verified performance data and a new standardized system for estimating power ratings.

Skystream 3.7 is the grid-connected small wind turbine that lets home or business owners offset their use of utility electricity, save money and reduce their impact on the environment. Skystream’s advanced features include quiet operation, electronic overspeed protection and wireless connectivity that allow its owner to view performance data from a computer. Skystream’s third party certifications include UL recognition for its inverter and renewable certification Statement of Compliance from GL. Skystream is sold and installed by authorized Southwest Windpower dealers and is backed by a five-year manufacturer warranty.

With a typical installed cost of $20,000 in California before rebates and incentives, the cost of can be reduced significantly with the CEC rebate. Taxpayers can also take advantage of a tax credit of up to 30% of the cost of the installed system.
