Southwest Windpower Introduces Unique, Web-based Wind Energy Assessment Tool and Website Redesign

“As part of our initiative to increase accessibility to, and use of, renewable energy sources across the globe, Southwest Windpower’s new online tools and renewed website will feature easy-to-use interfaces to help improve user experience,” said Dixon Thayer, chief executive officer of Southwest Windpower. “We want to provide consumers simple and easy ways to access wind energy information.”

 
Southwest Windpower’s web-based wind energy assessment tool, Sitelook, was developed utilizing wind energy forecasting models and an adaptation of SunWind Solutions’ advanced software. Sitelook uses site-specific wind data, historical energy usage, electricity rates and wind turbine variables to identify if a personal wind turbine is right for the user. Since siting is such a critical step for personal turbine efficiency, the tool also allows Southwest Windpower dealers and customer service representatives the ability to access site data to provide users with knowledgeable guidance for their investment.
 
Additionally, to further its communication efforts, Southwest Windpower has launched “Shoot the Breeze,” an industry blog that lives on the updated website. The blog will cover topics including industry issues, trends, and ways to help communities create renewable energy efficiently. Content from industry resources as well as company engineers will provide a resource for news and discussion site on the topic of wind power, personal wind turbines and the renewable energy industry.   
 
Additional new website features include:

• User-centered design to deliver an enhanced user experience through improved site architecture, navigation and usability to ensure optimal customer engagement
