SolPowerPeople welcomes back Dr. Jeffery Lee Johnson to present a webinar on AC Centric systems - a solution for off grid solar PV system design that circumvents standard off grid restrictions such as charge controller limitations, load to array efficiency, and reduced energy production.
October 4th, 2012, Dr. Jeffery Lee Johnson, AKA Doc Solar, will shed some light on a technically suave solution for off grid system design that conquers the standard barriers of the off-grid systems most are used to, making system expansion possible on a whole new level. What we usually see are small residential systems for those who want to get greener than Popeye's spinach, small systems in very rural environments where there is no access to a utility connection, or other off-grid applications that are even smaller.
Dr. Johnson will demonstrate how AC Centric system design can offer a solution to many problems standard to off-grid design that would ordinarily limit the system size and power production. With a combination of solar genius and a masterful blend of available technology, Doc Solar will show us how to harness the power of solar energy production in an off grid system of up to 100kW.
Jeffery Lee Johnson received his PhD from the University of California Santa Barbara in Electrical Engineering with specialization in the physics of Opto-Electronic materials and devices. He has more than 10 years experience as a Senior Project Manager for the Defense Industry and has worked on government projects through Raytheon, Rockwell and Lockheed Martin. Since 2007, Jeffery has been working to promote Solar Energy in Mexico where he now resides. He has been an educator, a professor, and a consultant for government and industrial clients. He is currently the founder and CTO of TodoSolar (Spanish for “Everything Solar”). TodoSolar is a Mexican owned EPC Company that designs and installs residential and commercial PV systems up to 500KW. “We have installed numerous systems including the largest grid connected residential system in the country at 18.2KW.” Dr. Johnson is in the process of installing a 24kW custom residential system- this will be larger than any residential system in existence today between Mexico and the USA.
TodoSolar is now expanding across Mexico riding the wave of solar growth in this new market, with plans to expand into Chile and Costa Rica.
