SolPowerPeople has partnered with the Northeast Iowa Community College to bring grant funded solar training to Iowa residents. If you live or work in the state of Iowa, you can be approved to take SolPowerPeople's 40-hour hands-on solar workshop for FREE (a $995 value).

The 40-hour workshop, SPV2000/SPV3000, is being offered in both Dubuque and Calmar, Iowa. The SPV2000/SPV3000 Accelerated PV Design & Installation Workshops implement a blended course model carefully designed to provide a solid foundation of knowledge coupled with advanced applied learning activities in a comprehensive conceptual and experiential learning format. This training intensive is designed for individuals seeking careers in the solar energy industry or who are interested in understanding what they need to be able to do to add solar PV-related services to their existing home and/or business.
As the market grows for Photovoltaics, individuals completing this training could find that their employment opportunities are enhanced by starting the job with an understanding of the basic terms and operational aspects of a PV system. These workshops are designed to give a strong understanding of the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) PV Installer TM Job Task Analysis (JTA).
The hands-on portion of the workshop provides participants with the oportunity to conduct a site assessment, run experiments on different solar pv modules, and install & commission 3 fully functional solar pv systems onsite utilizing SolPowerPeople's Solar Mobile Training Lab.
The first workshop is being held at NICC Calmar, September 27th-30th (Thursday-Sunday).
The second workshop is at NICC Dubuque, October 11th-30th (Thursday-Sunday).
