This is a very collaborative effort amongst leading professionals in the solar industry, and all the active participants from around the world. The #SolarMOOC's structure, daily Newsletters, live lectures, and guidance is delivered by SolPowerPeople as way to help empower the masses with solar knowledge in a fun, interactive, collaborative, free way.

The #SolarMOOC began in March 2012 and was designed as a 23-day NABCEP PV Installer Exam Prep Course for those planning to sit for the exam. The absolutely free course featured prominent solar industry professionals (Mike Holt and Jim Dunlop for example) as guest lecturers, reading assignments, problem sets, critical resources, participant collaboration, spontaneous study sessions, and daily informative newsletters. All of the materials and lectures generated during this MOOC can be accessed in the #SolarMOOC Archive.

The success from March's #SolarMOOC gave rise for the expansion into something much larger, The #SolarMOOC Academy.

The continuation of the #SolarMOOC began April 12, 2012 with the launching of the #SolarMOOC Academy. The Academy features weekly FREE webinars from solar-industry professionals covering various solar-related topics. These webinars are offered live and allow participants to ask questions and interact with these solar experts via webex. The presentations are recorded and released in a Newsletter and Archived for everyone to access at anytime.

Starting this Thursday, we will kick off another round of NABCEP JTA topics to help those planning to sit for the exam.
