Customer Touts Solar FlexRack's Quality, Ease of Installation at St. Croix, Virgin Islands Project

The Louise E. Brown Affordable Income Development Apartments project, helmed by All Rounder Systems LLC and Caribbean Energy Opportunities LLC, will supply 100kW of power via 380 SolarWorld 255w modules to the clubhouse, pool, workout and maintenance areas of the apartment development. The panels were mounted on 69 Solar FlexRacks.

What made this project unusual was that SFR roof racks were mounted on the ground. The Solar Flex Rack in-house engineering team was able to custom-design a penetrating roof rack system to mount to the existing concrete slab that was specified for this project location. Taking into account the unique nature of this job site, the SFR roof rack provided a cost-effective way to maximize output usage while still maintaining the structural stability to withstand the high wind speeds. In this case, the roof racks were custom-designed to withstand winds of up to 150 mph.

This is the second project Solar FlexRack has undertaken for All Rounder Systems in the Virgin Islands. An earlier project involved a 451kW solar farm at the CE King Airport in St. Thomas. The 129 2x7-panel Solar FlexRacks at this installation were also certified for winds of up to 150 mph.
