Join renowned renewable energy educator Solar Energy International in a week-long workshop June 25-29 that teaches renewable energy applications for developing countries.

In this hands-on workshop in Carbondale, Colorado, RD101: Renewable Energy for the Developing World participants will learn to construct fuel-efficient cookstoves, build residential size bio-gas systems, and work with small-scale solar electric systems. Hands-on labs will be interspersed with guest speakers describing lessons learned and successful projects. Case studies will be presented on solar cooking, rural household electrification, rural health care and micro-enterprises utilizing renewable energy. Participants will also learn about WE CARE Solar solar suitcases, which help bring much-needed electricity to health centers around the world.

The workshop takes place June 25-29 in Third Street Center in Carbondale. Solar Energy International is offering a $100 tuition incentive for Roaring Fork Valley locals to attend. Please call SEI at (970) 963-885 to enroll with discount. For more information, visit http://www.solarenergy.org/.

This workshop aligns with SEI's International and Developing World Applications Certificate, as part of SEI's new Solar Professionals Certificate Program. Required Courses (4) and Training Progression:  PV101 > PV203 > PV301L > RD101. Program Tuition:  $3,595 or $3,195 with tuition incentive

Not all solar professionals are on a roof in the United States installing photovoltaic systems. Some of the most rewarding and meaningful work can be found in the developing world. Solar professionals can be found working for government aid agencies and other non-profit organizations who are training local communities to become self sustaining. This work is often accomplished through application of renewable energy technologies in some of the most remote areas of of the world. This certificate program will take you through the common battery-based photovoltaic technologies and other developing world topics to prepare you for a rewarding career in helping the world realize the hope provided by renewable energy.

For more information e-mail Solar Energy International's Certificate Program Advisor here or call Breccia Wilson in the Student Services department at (970) 963-8855 ext. 107.
