Solaire Generation Installs Largest Corporate Solar Parking Power Plant in the U.S.
April 7, 2011
NEW YORK, N.Y., April 4, 2011 Solaire Generation, a leading designer, manufacturer and installer of patented solar photovoltaic parking structures, has recently transformed a typical corporate parking lot into an elegant solar power plant — the largest corporate one in the nation. The 3.6 megawatt solar-power project, completed on time and on budget, is in service at a Fortune 100 corporate office campus in central New Jersey.
"In 2010, our first year in production, we installed 5 megawatts of power and provided 90 jobs, from manufacturing and construction to professional services," said Laurence Mackler, CEO and Founder of Solaire Generation.
The Premium™ parking canopy supports more than 210,000 square feet of solar panels, 3.6 MW, and covers more than 1,300 parking spaces. The total system is made up of 25 structures, each with an average length of 200 feet and a 35-foot wingspan. If lined up contiguously, the structures would add up to 1.1 miles of solar canopy. The patented dual-incline design generates electricity equal to 340 U.S. households’ annual energy consumption.
