About Sol Systems LLC

Sol Systems was founded in the spring of 2008 by two individuals who thought it was time to do more to make a difference.  These founders, Yuri Horwitz and George Ashton, recognized a lack of awareness regarding government incentives for renewable energy and wanted to find a way to encourage the development of solar energy using existing incentives.  Sol Systems does just that.

We work with suppliers of electricity and the generators of renewable energy to develop a market in which both parties can trade solar renewable energy credits with ease.  Our objective is not to secure large profit margins on our SREC contracts, but rather to work with our partners to establish long-term relationships with low transaction costs to maximize the value of each SREC.  We accomplish this through low margin, high volume partnerships and a superior level of customer service.

The SREC market should function to provide owners of solar energy systems economic incentives for the development and operation of their systems, and to provide large-scale energy suppliers and utilities the opportunity to purchase these SRECs.  Where these SREC markets exist, we improve how they function.  Where these SREC markets don't exist, but should, we help build them.

Sol Systems is a Washington D.C. based solar energy finance and development firm that is committed to making solar energy more affordable.  We enable homeowners, businesses, and solar developers to finance their solar energy systems by providing a conduit for SREC monetization and long-term price stability.  With more than 1,000 customers across 13 states, Sol Systems has become a critical player in developing SREC markets and financing solar energy systems.  We are proud to be the oldest, most sophisticated, and largest SREC aggregator in the country.
