SMA America Announces Next Generation of Sunny Boy Inverters

The HF models measure less than 14 inches across and features a 35 percent reduction in weight, allowing them to be mounted in between wall studs, making them perfect for new home construction or for retrofit projects where space is a concern.

Available in three models ranging from 2,000 to 3,000 watts, the next generation inverters are the first U.S. units to utilize a high-frequency transformer.

The HF line displays class-leading efficiency and an input voltage range of 175 – 600 Volts, providing added flexibility in system design and performance in low power situations.

In addition to being technologically advanced, the lighter weight Sunny Boy inverters have improved key existing features such as field configurability for positive ground systems and integrated DC disconnects, making installation easier than ever.

SMA’s patented OptiCool® temperature management system and rugged indoor/outdoor rated enclosures ensure reliable operation, as evidenced by the Sunny Boy’s standard 10 year warranty, optionally extendable up to an additional 10 years.

Data can be transmitted by cable or through the integrated Bluetooth® wireless communication system. A large, modern graphic display presents an easy-to-read summary of critical performance information.

The Sunny Boy HF line was engineered to meet UL1741/IEEE 1547 requirements and is compatible with SMA’s advanced data collection and communication devices such as the Sunny WebBox data logger and Sunny Beam wireless desktop system monitor.
