NAVFAC deploys Second Wind's remote sensing system in Africa

July 26, 2011, SOMERVILLE, Mass. Second Wind Systems, Inc. has supplied the Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) in Port Hueneme, Calif. with a Triton SoDAR (sound detection and ranging) instrument for a wind resource measurement campaign at Camp Lemonnier in Djibouti, Africa. In addition, members of the NAVFAC staff were certified in field operations at Second Wind's Newton, Mass. factory and will be responsible for the Triton during its five-year deployment.
