RBI Solar Inc. Commissions new solar array at Ohio manufacturing plant. The array will offset about 1% of the manufacturing plant's annual consumption, or roughly offset the consumption of 1 energy efficient home.

St. Bernard, Cincinnati, OH - December 20, 2012 - RBI Solar is proud to have manufactured and installed the racking the first solar electric system in the city of St. Bernard, Ohio.  RBI Solar produces commercial and utility-scale racks for solar electric modules.  RBI Solar has shipped over 80 MW of solar racking in the past two years.  “RBI SOLAR is proud to offset some of our electricity consumption with this array,” General Manager Bill Vietas said, “and we look forward to future growth with more projects in Ohio.” 

The solar electric array includes products from many leading component manufacturers that have frequently been utilized in conjunction with RBI Solar racking.  Several partners participated in supplying the equipment for this project.  The twenty 275 Wp modules were provided by Suntech Power. The inverter, disconnecting combiner, and datalogger all came from Solectria Renewables, a Massachusetts based inverter manufacturer.  “I have had relationships for many years with great suppliers such as Solectria, Burndy, Wiley, Heyco, and Kris-Tech Wire, whose equipment was used on this project” said James Cormican of RBI Solar.

The array will offset about 1% of the manufacturing plant’s annual consumption, or roughly offset the consumption of 1 energy efficient home.  The 5.5kW array will serve as a training tool for installers as well as for classes on solar electricity.
