PowerLight Corporation Breaks Ground on a 20 Megawatt Photovoltaic Project in Spain for Elecnor

GENEVA, SWITZERLAND, NOV. 9, 2006 -- PowerLight Corporation and Elecnor, S.A. broke ground today on a 20 megawatt solar power system in the town of Trujillo, Caceres in Spain. PowerLight, the leading global provider of large-scale solar power systems, is working with Elecnor to design, develop and deploy the solar power system, named 'La Magascona', which will make use of PowerLight PowerTracker® Solar Power Systems, the most widely deployed single-axis solar tracking system in the world. The 20 MW project will be owned by Fotowatio Energia Solar, and will cover an area of approximately 100 hectares.
