Sonoma Mountain Village, Innovative, Comprehensive and Sustainable Live-Work Development Dedicates Largest Privately-Owned Solar Power Array in California

Sonoma Mountain Village, Codding Investment's innovative new landmark redevelopment, today dedicated the largest privately-owned solar array in California. The innovative live/work development is open for occupancy by businesses. The business center within this comprehensive 200-acre village, located on the former Agilent Technologies campus near Sonoma State University, is completely powered by solar electricity, thanks to Codding's use of 1.14 Megawatt solar array, designed and developed by PowerLight Corporation.

Sonoma Mountain Village, located in the picturesque wine country north of San Francisco, successfully blends high-tech jobs, residential properties, and attractive retail and dining destinations into one navigable pedestrian-oriented neighborhood. There will be 2,000 residential units in the Village; new residents will be drawn to this unique new neighborhood by its high-tech industry jobs and environmentally conscious sensibilities.

Target clients for Sonoma Mountain Village will come from such fields as alternative energy, medical device research, high-tech, natural products and financial services.

Codding Investment's approach has drawn broad support from California government officials, Sonoma State University, and other regional stakeholders. Rohnert Park Mayor Tim Smith noted, "While any approvals for this project will, of course, require full review by the City of Rohnert Park, I'm impressed with Sonoma Mountain Villages' thoughtful concept, as well as the environmentally-focused components incorporated into this new proposed mixed-used community."
