January 14, 2011 Application Deadline for NABCEP Installer Certification Exams

Ezra Auerbach, executive director of NABCEP, says, "This is a critical date for exam candidates to note because applications received after that date will be for the September administration of the certification exams. We are especially concerned about this deadline slipping past candidates because it is so soon after the holiday season when many focus their attention on non-work matters." Auerbach urges everyone who wishes to sit for the exam to get his or her applications submitted by the end of December.

The September round of NABCEP exams saw more than 700 people testing for installer certification and, not surprisingly, many of the applications arrived at the last minute. While NABCEP will accept applications until midnight on January 14, candidates who submit their completed applications earlier have a better chance of getting scheduled to test at their first-choice exam site. Late applicants have found that sometimes they have to travel farther for testing because earlier applicants have scheduled at the most commonly requested testing locations.

Candidates can apply online through the NABCEP website (www.nabcep.org) by clicking on the “Installers please click here” link on the home page. Paper-based applications are also accepted but they are subject to a $50 additional data entry service fee.
