Washington, D.C. (December 2, 2009) -- NHA Executive Director Linda Church Ciocci and NHA member  Hydro Green Energy Vice President Mark Stover will testify today at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission's Workshop on Small Hydropower.

FERC will stream the event webcast at www.ferc.gov.  (These videos are archived for three months.)

Church Ciocci plans to stress the important role small hydropower can -- and must -- play in building the 96,000 megawatts of additional capacity experts believe the industry will bring online by 2025.  She will also discuss the recommendations from NHA's small hydro council for refining the licensing process in order to reduce barriers to development and speed small hydro clean energy resources into service.

Stover, whose Houston-based company Hydro Green Energy, secured the country's first commercial hydrokinetic operating license earlier this year, will talk about how small hydro development can offer clean energy, environmental, and economic benefits to Americans in all regions.
