October 18, 2011
Motech Industries, Inc. (TWO: 6244TW) ("Motech") and its subsidiary, Delaware-based solar module manufacturer, Motech Americas, has its sights firmly set on the future and will introduce its new industry-leading high performance solar cells, the "LEO cells." at the North American solar event of the year, Solar Power International 2011.
The LEO cells will combine new metallization solution with enhanced manufacturing processes, resulting in higher conversion efficiency while maintaining the highest quality and competitive manufacturing costs. Although still in the final commercialization phase, these new multi-crystalline and mono-crystalline solar cells will deliver higher conversion efficiency ratings of 17.4% and 18.6%, respectively. Furthermore, the name of the new solar cells is dedicated to the loving memory of Motech’s founder and ex-chairman, Mr. Leo Cheng, and also in the celebration of Motech’s 30 year corporate anniversary.
Additionally, in Motech Americas, where solar modules have been manufactured in the USA for over 20 years, the new LEO cells are currently being incorporated into the next generation high quality Motech modules. The Motech XS series modules will be using mono-crystalline LEO cells and will deliver 255 to 300 watts of power output. Motech expects to begin shipping the new LEO cells and LEO-based mono-crystalline modules in early 2012.
MOTECH’s booth will be in Hall D, Booth #3715, at Solar Power International from October 17tth to October 20th, in Dallas Convention Center in Dallas, Texas, USA
