MOTECH Industries, Inc. and their IM156 3B solar cell is the recipient for the 2011 Outstanding Photonic Product Award from the prestigious Taiwan Photonic Industry and Technology Development Association ("PIDA").

TAINAN SCIENCE PARK, Taiwan – June 15, 2011 – MOTECH Industries, Inc. (TWO: 6244TW) (“MOTECH”) has received the 2011 Outstanding Photonic Product Award for our multicrystalline silicon IM156 B3 solar cell from the prestigious Taiwan Photonic Industry and Technology Development Association (“PIDA”). The newest generation of the IM156 B3 was recently released to the market and has been able to achieve an impressive 17.4% maximum efficiency rating. This is truly impressive because multicrystalline solar cells typically have an average efficiency in the upper-16% range.


The Outstanding Photonics Product Award is awarded once a year by PIDA and only products of the highest caliber are recognized for this reward. This will be the first time that MOTECH has been recognized for this award, thus showing that not only is our quality excellence recognized by our customers, but also by the experts and leaders in this industry.

The award will be presented to MOTECH at the upcoming Photonics Festival in Taiwan, SOLAR Taiwan 2011 which will be held at the TWTC Nangang Exhibition Hall from June 14-16th.
