Kyocera Solar, Inc. to be Part of San Diego Home & Garden Energy Efficient Innovation Home

San Diego, California San Diego, California based architect Kevin deFreitas has teamed up with Kyocera Solar, Inc. to build the San Diego Home & Garden Energy Efficient Innovation Home, the first residential home seeking to qualify for LEED certification in the San Diego area. The single family residence will incorporate a Kyocera solar electric system, among other state-of-the-art energy efficiency and green building technologies. The home will serve as a demonstration site to educate the public, designers and construction professionals on new energy efficient and green building products.
Casa Futura, as the demonstration home will be called, is currently under construction and slated to be highlighted as the San Diego Home & Garden Energy Efficient Innovation Home in the October issue of the magazine. Home tours are scheduled to take place October 11-28thand will be open to the general public. Once complete, Casa Futura will feature a Kyocera 4.8 kilowatt solar electric system composed of 24 Kyocera KC200GT modules. REC Solar, a solar electric system installer specializing in grid-tie solar electric design and installation, will install the roof mounted system which is expected to produce roughly 7,200 kilowatt hours of electricity annually.
