The Company

The innovative task of cultivating solar energy is one which Krannich embraces with great responsibility. We have been planning, consulting and producing powerful photovoltaic systems for our commercial and energy supply partners for over ten years.

Company history:

Kurt and Axel Krannich founded the company, Krannich Solartechnik, in 1995. The brothers installed photovoltaic systems ranging in size from 1 to 10 kW. After the start of the 100,000 Roofs Program in 1999, the installation company transformed itself into a specialized photovoltaic systems dealer and then later to a specialized wholesaler of photovoltaic systems.

In 2001, a distribution center was rented in Weil der Stadt in order to store and distribute the constantly growing volume of modules and mounting systems.

The storage space was expanded to 2,000 square meters in 2003 and the distribution center was purchased in 2004. Module suppliers from Spain, the USA, and Japan enhanced the product portfolio.

In 2006 the company transformed itself into Krannich Solar GmbH.

Over the last fifteen years, the company’s revenue has continually been on the rise. The number of employees has considerably grown since 1995 and Krannich currently employs more than 250 people worldwide.

In 2005, Krannich Solar installed 16 mega watts of solar power on roofs in Germany and Europe. Ranked among the TOP 10 suppliers in 2006, Krannich Solar increased its foreign revenue in the EU to over 25%. Targetting each local market, the global expansion is taking shape with offices in Italy, Spain, USA, Greece, Korea, France, the Czech Republic, Belgium and the UK.

The total installed capacity of the complete Krannich Group in 2010 amounted to 250 megawatts. As a result Krannich Solar is in the Top 10 in the European photovoltaics industry.

In 2011, Krannich USA established new leadership and focus. They are committed to 100% energy transformation in the U.S.
