Inspires Public Television viewers to take immediate action toward sustainable energy choices
October 27, Milwaukee, WI Johnson Controls, the global leader in energy efficiency, is a proud sponsor of filmmaker Jeff Barrie's award-winning documentary, Kilowatt Ours: A Plan to Re-Energize America (www.kilowattours.org). The film educates and empowers individuals to reduce their consumption of fossil fuels by making more energy-efficient and sustainable choices in their daily lives.

The film explores the source of the nation's electricity and the problems caused by energy production including mountain top removal, childhood asthma and global warming. Throughout his journey the filmmaker encounters individuals, businesses, organizations, and communities who are leading the way, using energy conservation, efficiency and renewable power all while saving money and the environment. "This marks a great milestone in my career as an environmental documentary filmmaker, " said Jeff Barrie, Kilowatt Ours filmmaker. "The Kilowatt Ours team has found a great partner in Johnson Controls, whose leadership in energy-efficiency and sustainability are invaluable to our efforts to spread the word about taking action to conserve energy and protect the environment." Johnson Controls helps facility designers, contractors, owners and managers improve building efficiency by providing energy efficient equipment and control systems, energy efficiency retrofits and renewable energy projects, and a broad range of technical and advisory services. The company's sustainability activities are measured against the triple bottom line of environmental, social and economic performance.
