The Interstate Renewable Energy Council (IREC) ISPQ Credentialing Program has approved four Job Task Analyses (JTA)'s as a resource for applicants from the energy efficiency and weatherization sectors.

The Job Task Analyses are the result of an industry-led collaboration to define the minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of workers in four job classifications in the home energy retrofit industry: Weatherization/Retrofit Installer/Technician, Weatherization/Retrofit Crew Leader, Energy Auditor and Quality Control Inspector.

IREC ISPQ offers rigorous assessment using an international standard specifically for energy efficiency, weatherization and renewable energy training programs and instructors. Administrative infrastructure, facilities, hardware, faculty, safety practices and curriculum are all examined. Candidates need to demonstrate that the information they teach covers the full range required for a given subject, through use of IREC ISPQ-approved JTA’s. The goal is to ensure that training leads to defined workplace knowledge and skills, and that it appropriately addresses safety.
