Interstate Renewable Energy Council, Latham, NY Join us for a unique and timely conference on "New Ideas in Educating a Workforce in Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency." This national conference will take place on March 19 and 20, 2008 at Hudson Valley Community College (outside of Albany), New York. Pre-conference workshops will take place on Tuesday, March 18. This event will give you the most current information on instructional strategies, curricula development, and best practices for training in the renewable energy and energy efficiency fields. It also offers a great opportunity to network with US and international educators and organizations. There will be conference sessions covering topics such as New Approaches to Course Delivery; Designing Training for Different Audiences; Lessons Learned from Training Programs; Hands-On Laboratories; Resources to Start or Improve Energy Programs; Green Jobs Corps; Training the Electrical Trades and many more sessions. Over 65 speakers will give you the most up-to-date information on educational programs and strategies. There will also be 6 pre-conference workshops on March 18 covering PV Systems and the National Electrical Code, Solar Thermal, Criterion-Referenced Testing for Renewable Energy Courses and Programs, Wind Energy Science for Educators, Ethanol and Biofuels, and Using the RETScreen Renewable Energy System Modeling Tools. The conference is sponsored by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority and organized by the Interstate Renewable Energy Council, the Partnership for Environmental Technology Education, and Hudson Valley Community College.
