On the final day of the National Hydropower Association Annual Conference, the U.S. Department of Interior's Bureau of Reclamation and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Federal Energy Regulatory Commission are hosting workshops.

The conference is April 16-18 in Washington, D.C. Both workshops are free to NHA conference registrants.

The Reclamation Lease of Power Privilege Workshop is being held Wednesday, April 18 from 1:30-3:30 pm. It is intended for hydropower developers, dam and canal operators, and others who are interested in development of hydropower at Reclamation facilities. Reclamation has recently published its guidelines on development of hydropower under a Lease of Power Privilege. Participants will learn how this process works and hear discussion of new guidelines. The workshop will include open discussion and a question and answer session. An update on Reclamation’s hydropower resource assessment also will be provided.

Improvements in FERC/USACE Coordination on Non-Federal Hydro Development: One Year After the MOU is being held Wednesday, April 18 from 3:30-5 pm. This workshop is intended for hydropower developers who are interested in development of hydropower at federal facilities. Agency staff will share their perspectives on recent developments, and developers will share their experiences/success stories over the past year.
