London, UK: 6th February 2012 Jordy Herrera, the Mexican Minister of Energy, has confirmed his participation at Green Power Conferences' Mexican International Renewable Energy Congress (MIREC), which will take place in Mexico City this May.
"Mexico is a world leader in renewable energy development, and we are thrilled that Mr Herrera will be joining us at MIREC to help further advance this exciting market" said Sophy Searight, Event Director at Green Power Conferences.
Speaking in advance of July’s election, Mr Herrera’s involvement will allow the congress to host definitive discussions on the future energy plans and reaffirm the National Action Party’s support for the development of renewable energy sources in Mexico. About the Mexican International Renewable Energy ConferenceThe Mexican International Renewable Energy Congress brings together the Mexican renewable energy community to drive forward this important sector at a time of unprecedented change in the market. As regulation and legislature change to allow private involvement this is a critical time to create the strategy that will maximise the opportunities presented by Mexico’s world-leading renewable resources. Assembling power producers, Ministers, and energy officials from across the country, MIREC builds on the success of the Wind Power Mexico 2011 event and expands to include the rapidly developing solar market. With Mexico’s geothermal market well established but ripe for evolution, GeoPower Mexico is also a crucial part of this comprehensive congress.
