The Algerian Ministry of Energy and Mines (MEM) confirmed the participation of the top management of its renewable energy department at the 7th electro, automation & energy. The international trade show takes place against the backdrop of growing Algerian imports of power and electro-technology. The event is organised by the trade fair specialists from fairtrade Messe and its Algerian-German team. It is scheduled to be held in Algiers from 18 to 21 May, 2013 at the Palais des Expositions d'Alger – Safex.

“electro, automation & energy is fully in line with the Algerian objectives concerning the questions about the use of conventional and renewable energies”, stated Lakhdar Benmazouz, Director of renewable energies and the control of energy with MEM. By letter of 12 December 2012, Benmazouz reinforces the support of MEM for Algeria's No. 1 energy & electro-technology event in 2013. Once again, the top management of its renewable energy department will participate at the event. This may also include the participation of Sonelgaz and APRUE-The Algerian National Agency for the Promotion and Rationalisation of the Use of Energy as exhibitors, as well as their active participation at the conferences alongside the exhibition.

The 7th International Trade Fair on Renewable and Conventional Energy, Energy Efficiency, Electrical Engineering, Lighting and Automation will be accompanied by a two-day conference with the topic: “Renewables & Energy Efficiency in the context of sustainable development in Algeria”. As in 2012, top-level speakers of the Algerian Ministries of Energy and Mines, of Industry and Commerce and of Environment as well as executives of Sonelgaz, GTP filiale SH, APRUE, CDER and many others will participate.

Algeria’s No 1 electro-technology event takes place on the background of massive investments and double-digit growth of Algerian imports of power and electro-technology. According to ZVEI - the German Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers’ Association, Algerian imports of power and electro-technology have increased by 14 per cent in 2011, to 3.063 billion Euros, after 2.678 billion Euros in 2010 and 2.759 billion Euros in 2009. France, China, Italy, the USA, Germany and Spain have been the major supplier countries.

The full institutional support is completed by the event’s new Institutional Partner “Portail CDER”, the web portal of the Centre of Development for Renewable Energies (CDER) in Algeria. According to Dominik Rzepka, Head of marketing and PR with fairtrade, this support highlights the major role of Algeria’s 7th International Trade Fair on Renewable and Conventional Energy, Energy Efficiency, Electrical Engineering, Lighting and Automation.
