Demand Energy Networks is proud to announce the company has been named Winner of the Technology/Clean Tech Award, as part of the 2012 Green Awards presented by Seattle Business Magazine. This annual award was announced on November 1, at a gala event honoring Seattle Business' annual Green 50 list, recognizing fifty outstanding Washington organizations at the forefront of the global push toward sustainable commerce.

The Technology/Clean Tech Award is one of twelve special recognitions in industry specific categories. Demand Energy was selected as a category winner in recognition of their activities as pioneers in energy storage technology, allowing businesses and utilities to manage renewable energy generation more effectively.

"Just as Washington state led the way in the aerospace revolution and the software revolution, we can lead the way in the clean tech revolution," said Washington gubernatorial candidate Jay Inslee in his keynote speech. Inslee is the author of Apollo's Fire: Igniting America's Clean Energy Economy.

"I'm inspired to have a part in developing a technology that has the potential to improve the energy future of communities across the planet," said Dave Curry, CEO of Demand Energy in accepting the award. "Intelligent energy storage is a technology that will alter the energy supply chain. It expands efficiencies of existing energy resources, and gives energy users a way to control electricity costs. It will help us fully realize the promise of renewable technologies, like wind and solar."

Winners of the Green Awards were selected from a large pool of nominations by a panel of judges from prominent organizations in the region, including the Washington Environmental Council, Climate Solutions, the Bainbridge Graduate Institute and the Washington Clean Technology Alliance. The event received the generous support of presenting sponsor MacDonald-Miller Facility Solutions and signature sponsors Comcast Business Class and Seattle Steam Company.
