Brightergy, a leading Midwest solar development and finance firm, was awarded a competitively bid $1.1 million contract to install a 105.6 kW solar array at the Clayton Police Station. The solar array will be mounted on an elevated steel structure above the Police Station's parking garage. The system will provide all the energy needs of the parking garage as well as offset a portion of the main building's needs.

The solar panels will be sourced from US-based Sunpower Corp., while the steel structure will be manufactured by US-based Crider Americas. Brightergy will collaborate with local St. Louis electrical contractor, Kaemmerlen Electric,  for installation support.

The array is part of Clayton’s larger commitment to clean energy and the health of their citizens.  Clayton was the first Missouri community to achieve the EPA’s Green Power Community Designation.  The addition of this project was instrumental in helping the city retain that designation.
