About Solarize Mass
Solarize Mass – a statewide program launched by the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center- seeks to provide Massachusetts homeowners and business owners with an incentive to consider solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. Through educational presentations, grassroots organizing, community engagement, and a critical mass incentive, the program hopes to help Massachusetts reach Governor Duval Patrick’s goal of 250 megawatts of solar PV installed by 2017. As a way to help reach Governor Patrick’s goal, the program offers a buying in bulk program, whereby the installation cost of solar PV declines as the amount of contracted capacity in each town increases. This allows for solar PV to become more affordable, while, at the same time, providing residents with an incentive to encourage their neighbors to get solar PV.
