SolarWorks NJ Awarded 1.5-MW PV Contract | Renewable Energy News Article

New Jersey, United States [RenewableEnergyWorld.com] SolarWorks NJ LLC announced they were awarded the contract to construct a solar energy system for the Medford Township Sewer Treatment Plant. Under the agreement, SolarWorks NJ will construct a 1.5-megawatts (MW) solar energy system, designed to offset a majority of the Sewer Treatment Plant's electric usage. The system is estimated to generate approximately 2,227,620 kilowatt hours per year.

The system will save Medford Township approximately $7.4 million over the next 15 years and construction is expected to commence after state and local approvals have been obtained. SolarWorks NJ has an additional 5 MW of financed solar energy projects for 2010. The award was announced by the Medford City Council on March 23, 2010. Nine vendors submitted proposals to the Township.
