Debate Spins Over Turbine Tourism

[Wind] At Meridian Energy's Te Apiti wind farm, you can stand directly beneath a giant 70-metre turbine and listen to the whoosh of its blades as they turn. The turbine, one of 55 run by Meridian in the Tararuas, belongs to a growing army of turbines dominating the Tararua skyline and attracting visitors to the viewing site on the Saddle Rd, connecting Manawatu with Tararua.
