All I want to know, all I want to see from any of these so called "influential industry executives" is substantially lower PV module prices. You can keep everything else.
When will the average citizen be able purchase PV modules for <$3.00 per watt without having to purchase a container ship load at one time?
Well, when?
They might be "influential" allright, but its to the benefit of each other, not for the average citizen wanting solar electricity.
I suppose their excuse will be the economy now, "Wall Street." What was the one before that? Oh ya! A "shortage of raw materials." And before that, not enough intrest from the private sector.
Frankly speaking, I havent seen anything about these executives that would make them any different than any other executives. All they have to do is make excuses.

The problem here is that all these companies are wasting time and resources competing against each other... im hoping for some serious rationalisation in the market soon.
From that point we should start to see some major economies of scale.

Solar products: Solar PV on large project scale ranges are large from each of the many Manufactures. Same as cost of shipping has killed many small order sales. Same as cost if Import Duties. Then and of certifications needed for your grant programs and you just inflated the crap out of solar PV to a retail price of what every you had ended up paying for it.

Keep Dreaming of cheap solar or get to work to fix the problems in the food chain. Bring this up to our President Elect Barack Obama and see if he can help the problem. Happy New Year Renewable Energy World.
