Green Touring with Barenaked Ladies and Reverb

Peterborough, New Hampshire [RenewableEnergyAccess.com] The concert business can be very dirty. When factoring in transportation for fans and musicians, electricity for the show, and the amount of trash and lack of recycling at many venues, the environmental impact is immense. 
In recent years, many bands have become aware of the impact their touring has on the environment. One such band, Barenaked Ladies, has been trying to green up their concerts through use and support of renewable resources. Reverb, an organization that helps bands coordinate green tours, is currently working with Barenaked Ladies.
On this week's show, we're joined by Steven Page, singer/songwriter for Barenaked Ladies. He is an avid supporter of renewables and is trying to raise energy awareness through music. Also on the program is Lauren Sullivan, Co-founder of Reverb, who has played a very important role in getting musicians to make their touring more eco-friendly. Inside Renewable Energy offers the latest in renewable energy news and information.

It's also interesting to hear Page talk about his desire to have the things that go on at his concert match the values of the band. Companies would do well to listen closely. If a company is advocating environmental responsibility and fails to live up to those standards, they will be punished by the public. Just look what BP is going through right now.
