While Mexico and Chile are good candidates for solar power, I question the concept of Brazil being a strong solar market. Various regulations and activities especially the low cost hydroelectric rates that are presently in force in my opinion tends to reduce the potential of a Brazil solar market.

There are other areas of Central America including Mexico with higher potential in total installations.

The Chilean Govt. has determined that by 2020, 20% of all power required by the country is to come from renewable sources, namely PV, eolic and geothermal. Despite the fact that Chile has a significant hydroelectric potential, it has virually no petrol nor gas, which it has to import; hence the amount of PV and eolic deployments the country is experiencing right now.
