It was interesting that after such "the future looks bright" interview with Twin Creeks Technology, they went bankrupt in November.

Ventum_Orbis,
The main difference between us seems to be that I rely upon the most modern, best instrumented, most classically accepted science evidence, while you make excuses about quoting actual data and prefer to quote zealotry.
Another difference is possibly that I have been dealing with climate data since 1992, before the term 'global warming' really took off.
You make claims about fossil fuel funding. I have had zero funding from any source. I know of no colleague who has had any big oil funding. I know the Heartland history well. I know of some very large amounts given by Big Oil to NGOs whose views are often opposite to my data.
Do us a kindness and quote some actual examples of Big Oil (or a similar name) giving meaningful sums of money to those you accuse as being on the take.
And, having said I write nonsense, do provide a verbatim example as you go about developing offshore renewable energy at more than 5 times the cost per unit of what we grew up paying.
Do you now concede, after recent further study, that there has been no significant global ewarming in the past 16 years? If you do not, you are in a small minority, a 'skeptic', one might say.

David, And 2012 was just reported as the wettest since records began in UK. I should not bother too much about this Sherrington chap. He is a retired scientist in Australia and his nonesense over several years is well known to many of us. FYI "Geoff" I have done plenty of reading since I quit the Oil and Gas industry 2.5 years ago following the disgusting spectacle at Macondo and now work almost full time in offshore renewable energy. I gave up arguing with you people a long time ago as have too much real work to do and not the free time on my hands you probably have so sorry no data for you. What I still fail to understand however is what goes on in the minds of you people and what motivates you to ignore what is the plain obvious truth about what is happening. Why? A lot of you are ex or current fossil fuel and large corporation people I know and some are funded by several Oil Company front organisations but It surely cannot just be that? Those who do end up having to say sorry in some way in the future will be those who are looked back upon by their descendants as having peddled this rubbish. Thankfully David most of these people are male, over 55, politically motivated and very much in the minority. CG

You guys need to do some recent reading, beyond the 2% of land that is the US of A. The global measurers, including both main satellite sets that start about 1978, and the latest version HadCRUT4, which includes the oceans, readily admit that the last 16 years has seen no global warming within better than 95% confidence limits. Some go to 99% confidence in the usual statistical strides.

The main energy of the globe that affects weather through heat is within the oceans. Look at global temperatures for the oceans as shown by the agreed best instruments, the Argo buoys. Have a look at Chapter 3 of the IPCC AR5 draft and you will see no warming of significance.

Then say 'sorry' and provide data to support your misbelief.

2012 was one of the hottest years on record in the US. Our local news announced that Columbia,sc had the hottest average temperatures on record. The deniers can argue about cause but they belittle themselves when they deny the straight forward numbers. Pathetic!

Not sure where you source your nonsensical denier propaganda Sherington, but "16 years with no significant global warming" is so stupidly and dangerously wrong it is almost laughable. Just what the hell is wrong with you people and your tiny little minds? Thankfully you are becoming quite a lunatic fringe, but I cannot always ignore such rubbish. Someone got the Maths wrong. Good grief.

How do you explain 16 years with no significant global warming? When do you admit that someone got the math/physics wrong?
