China continues to dominate the solar landscape. Only now, they're looking to do so as a domestic market leader.

The nation recently introduced scaled up plans that would push its capacity to 21 gigawatts (GW) by 2015. This year alone, the country is expected to hit 6 GW of installations, most of which will come in the second half of the year. The following year also looks like it will be a strong one.

We asked SolarBuzz Research Director Wolfgang Schlichting about the likelihood that China will hit this figure, the challenges that remain and what segments of the domestic market will drive growth.
