I live on the Klamath River at www.marblemountainranch.com, and operate a small hydro plant since we are distant from the grid. The one issue that does not seem to be sufficiently addressed in my opinion is the water availability for habitat, recreation, etc. if we have another 10 year drought and are living absent any compounded water. The drought of the 1980 was devastating. What happens with a repeat of a similar or worse drought? Projections to pre-dam conditions for water availability are suspect in my mind, since we are NOT anywhere similar to that era in consumption of water from the river corridor or in climactic conditions. We are now living in a different climate condition, and have heavier water consumption of the Klamath water. Dam removal may put us at increased risk of flooding, but what about low water events?
