If we're looking as long term as 2035, you are leaving out a major growing "hydro" power source. Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion is on it's way to commercial reality. The Bahamas just committed to building 2 OTEC plants, other caribbean nations are lining up, and there is a buzz starting to grow about it being built on the African coast. It's base-load, emission free power, with clean drinking water as the only byproduct. Truly life-changing technology that will be a major player in the world's clean energy future.

More on that Bahamas deal here...

The perfect model of hydro electric production can be seen at Lake Arenal in Costa Rica where hydro electricity is produced by their own man made lake.
In Costa Rica they have manufactured this huge energy producing lake some thirty three square miles around, and 2,500 ft. up in the mountains of Arenal. This has become the centralized power production location of the country and provided a strategic central power grid that is located along the rim of the lake. The power grid can be seen by the many wind farms that line the top of it. It is also tapped by local solar producers.
This man made lake is surrounded by active volcanoes which provide the country with great geothermal energy. There is a huge geothermal plant at the base of the Miravalles Volcano and another one being built in nearby Las Pailas Field.
In the midst of all these technologies is a lakeshore location/resort that is more and more being used to house students the have come to Costa Rica to study alternative energy as part of a study abroad program. This resort is actively looking for an educational organization, university or college that is ready to commit to educating its students overseas in the study of alternative energy production. If educating our future leaders is the key to changing how society will view renewable energy solutions in the future, then Puerto San Luis at Lake Arenal, Costa Rica could become ground zero for the western world's future of green energy education.
