Avancis opens CIS solar PV factory with 100MWp capacity

December 30, 2011  |  0 Comments

Avancis opened its 2nd factory at its German headquarters, capable of producing 100 megawatt peak (MWp) annually, or 800,000 CIS modules. The 25000m² factory brings Avancis' annual production capacity to 120MWp.

December 30, 2011 -- Copper indium selenide (CIS) solar module maker Avancis opened its second factory at its Torgau, Saxony, Germany, headquarters, capable of producing 100 megawatt peak (MWp) annually, or 800,000 CIS modules. The 25000m² factory brings Avancis' annual production capacity to 120MWp.

The SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES AG supplied 3 selenization machines for this CIS production, realizing technical acceptance in November 2011. Hartmut Fischer, CEO of Avancis, called the production facility state-of-the-art, with modern, German-engineered machines and its proprietary factory planning. Avancis noted SINGULUS' on-time delivery of the selenization machines as well as the quick commissioning.
