There will be pain. But, there is pain now. A truly level playing field for solar is not going to happen.

1 percent of the US population controls 70 percent of the US economy and you accuse the Chinese of not playing fair?
China has opned the door to opportunity here by bringing the price of photovoltaics down to the level of artificially priced coal.
When was/is capitalism ever "fair"? It's always been about those "who got" against those "who ain't", those who have it and those who want it.
American manufacturing was driven over seas by the American consumer decades ago, and it's not coming back.
If China wants to burn up its coal making photovoltaic panels for us, that will in turn make our coal last even longer, then we should be thanking them.

We are seen all of this discussion happening in the States.
What we see in the Caribbean and specifically in the Dominican Republic is that when you as an investor make a deal with a company for a solar project with a 25 year warranty ,the price is only an important consideration but not the only one consideration.
We want to deal with a company that will be in good health 25 years from now and of a product that will last more than 25 years in compliance with the warranty !!
Our limited experience with chinesse panels have been very bad, specially with the corrossion and the lost of efficiency in the first 3 years.
As in cars japanese has been our best options !!
