This is realy challenging, I hope the market can devellop in a better way as it did in Europe. I would be open for an opportunity in this market, since I have a good network in PV industry.

If you're talking about Latin America, we cannot leave out Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion. OTEC is already coming to some parts of the Caribbean, and other neighboring countries are lining up to have it around their shorelines. Truly revolutionary stuff, creating clean, base-load power out of the temperature difference in ocean water, and the only by product is clean drinking water. Keep track of which country is getting it next at The On Project.

The timing for third world countries to enter the solar PV market in a huge way is perfect. First world countries have their hands tied by monopolies striving to maintain control of the status quo and the heavily entrenched political machines they have nurtured.
Educating the citizens of these countries has never been easier. Multimedia internet education using the very best of the best teachers is possible at a very small cost when considering how low the cost of tablet type computers ($30) and digital books has become. Books should be free.com and Khan Academy type sites using multi-lingual capabilities are springing up everywhere.
Seeing the poorest of the poor having the ability to share in the educational opportunities formerly available to only the super rich, golden spoon fed kids will certainly uncover Einsteins type minds in several fields that will benefit the quality of life for our grandchildren.
Having them spring from capitalist and socialist countries alike will slam home the idea that everyone has played a part in bringing these persons to the station they are in and they should give back in proportion to what they have received.
Third world countries suddenly have the ability to shine. Not by passing around nuclear bomb information to anyone mildly interested, but by surpassing health care and how to suppress and report excessive greed in all fields.
Children formerly occupied with keeping flies off their tiny ration of food will rise above the ideas that their former owners implanted and make real contributions that may someday save the life of their wealthy owner (or their grandchildren). It is an exciting time for implementation of consumer owned rooftop solar by the drastically poor. It appears that they will not let the powers that be "meter" their grandchildren's sunshine and continue polluting the earth for temporary profits.
The main ingredient of a solar cell continues to be purified sand.

In most Latin American countries the utility is a state owned monopoly, with all its complications. Even though their mission is to give energy to all the people to the best price their interest in renewable energies is at the best cordial. They (read the unions) see us as competitors and they see renewables energies as something not as serios as utility owned central generation. A lot of lobbying has to be done in order to get these utilities to change their minds.
