a-Si, nano-Si PV developers order MVS tools

November 18, 2011 -- MVSystems Inc. received several tool orders for thin-film silicon photovoltaics development. The cluster tools will be used to develop amorphous and nano-silicon solar cells, as well as advanced heterojunction designs.

MVS  PECVD and sputtering process chambers order wins:
Instituto Nacional de Astrofisica, Optica y Electronica, Puebla, Mexico;
Centro de Investigacion en Energia, Ciudad Universitaria, Mexico;
A major European energy company.

Proprietary showerhead RF electrodes orders:
CNRS;
Ecole Polytechnique (France);
Solar Energy Research Institute, Singapore.

Shipped orders for cluster tools (PECVD, sputtering systems, in-vacuum flip station):
Hebei University, Baoding, China;
The University of Toronto, Canada;
The University of Toledo, Ohio, USA.

MVS (with its subcontractor The University of Hawaii- Hawaii Natural Energy Institute and its partner National Renewable Energy Laboratory, Golden, Colorado) under a multi-million contract ($3.79 million) from US Department of Energy is continuing the development of photo-electrochemical cells for solar to hydrogen conversion. MVS is also developing a novel high efficiency thin film solar cell sponsored by National Science Foundation.
