The article makes the sweeping generalization, "But energy projects, both conventional and renewable, typically require large amounts of water." How so? Do we have to irrigate wind turbines? Do solar panels need daily washing? Since when so hydrokinetics consume water?

Considering the waste of water associated with fossil plants, most renewables represent significant opportunities to conserve water. CSP is the exception and its siting should be done cautiously.
